Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire a Program Coordinator for the Office of Military and Veterans Affairs within the College of Professional and Continuing Education.  

 

In this role, you will advise military veterans, service members, dependents and survivors (VSDS) on Department of Defense (DoD) and VA educational benefits. Work in partnership across the University, including Student Financial Services, Student Success and Student Life to coordinate services and support Creighton students from all campuses and all programs using DoD and VA benefits. Collaborate with representatives from the federal and state Departments of Veteran Affairs, military units and installations and veteran support organizations. Perform duties as the Alternate Certifying Official for Creighton University.  Coordinate office activities to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity. Develop procedures and policies for office activities, such as information and data creation, management, distribution, and archiving. Coordinates and plans meetings. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Counsel and advise military veterans, servicemembers, dependents and survivors (VSDS) on DoD and VA educational benefits. Collaborate and coordinate services and support for Creighton students using DoD and VA benefits. 
  • Assist with enrollment, re-admittance, persistence, and completion of their program of study.
  • Compile data, maintain records, and prepare reports. Update and monitor student records and degree requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and federal and state Departments of Veteran Affairs. 

 

Qualifications

  • Associateâ??s degree required, Bachelorsâ?? degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years' experience, prior university and/or military education experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Veteran's Educational benefits, programs, and regulations. Previous military experience is desirable. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
